" The Penguins and Flyers each finished with 99 points, and the Pens earned the home-ice advantage with 45 wins, compared to the Flyers' 44. Staying with the "Hey, they're evenly matched" argument, both teams scored 264 goals on the season and were one goal apart defensively, with the Pens surrendering 239 and the Flyers 238."

Wow... from almost not even MAKING the playoffs, to home ice advantage... at least for the first round ... !!!
It will be a hard series... Play Off Hockey at it's best !
LET'S GO PENS !!!

Yeah I tell you what, it's going to be a good series, but I'm a bit nervous as to it's outcome. We rolled through the playoffs last year, but I'm not so sure that will happen this year, especially against the Scum.

I heard someone saying they would've rather played Washington or New Jersey... Not that Philly is an ideal choice (save for possibly the Rangers or Montreal, were there any real easy choices when choosing a match for the Pens in the first round?), but I'd rather play a team we have a big rivalry with and are very familiar with, yet don't have the standout stars like NJ or WSH (Brodeur, Ovechkin, Green, Semin, Parise, etc.)

It'll be physical for sure, but that's not something we're not bad at nowadays with guys like Guerin and Kunitz along for the ride. And maybe, just maybe, we can out-class them with our talent to the point of where they're trying to use their strong suit (strength) at poor times and getting penalized for it. Ah, yes, wouldn't it be great if they dug their own hole for us two years in a row?
